Under his technical leadership, Xaar said it has registered 90 patents.
More recently he focused his attention on establishing a technology 'roadmap' to enable Xaar to widen its range of potential markets and he is the inventor of Xaar's Platform 3 product, which was launched earlier this year.
Ian Dinwoodie, Xaar's chief executive commented: "I would like to express our warmest thanks to Steve Temple for the huge contribution he has made to Xaar since joining the company at its inception in 1990.
His vision, expertise and tireless leadership have given us a technology that is second to none in the world of inkjet printing and helped to establish Cambridge as a world centre of excellence for all things inkjet related.
We wish him and his family every success in his next venture." He continued: "We are pleased to welcome Ramon Borrell to Xaar and him and his family to the UK.
