Rigid Substrate Ink Approved For Xaar's Printheads

Toyo Ink's Liojet FV03 inks have now been approved for use with Xaar's 760 range of inkjet printheads.

Toyo Ink has been active for a number of years in the digital inkjet business, with a reputation for creating inks that consistently provide outstanding results, claimed Xaar.

To receive Xaar's approval the Toyo Liojet FV03 ink, which is said to be designed for printing on rigid substrates, had to meet Xaar's test criteria, including material compatibility, printhead lifetime testing, print performance and extended reliability testing.

Kazuya Yamashita, Toyo Ink's sales and marketing manager for inkjet business, said: "We are very happy to gain Xaar approval as its standards are extremely high.

Gaining this endorsement enables our customers to use our inks in Xaar's advanced printheads with absolute confidence, which is becoming increasingly important as the single pass inkjet printing market emerges." Xaar said that its confidence in Liojet inks is partly due to Toyo Ink's policy on quality control.

As the company is involved in the development and the manufacturing of pigments and inks, it is able to regulate the entire production line using total quality management systems and every product is sampled for final quality inspection before shipping.

The company added that the three basic performance characteristics tested by Toyo Ink are purity, consistency and compatibility.

Xaar said that the alliance between the companies means that the inkjet printhead developer and manufacturer can be confident that its products will achieve the standards expected by customers, thereby avoiding problems such as blockage and the failure of printhead components that result from printing with substandard, third party, unapproved inks.

Toyo Ink has had a long relationship with Xaar, said the company.

It became a Xaar ink licensee in 1999 and since then has supplied ink to Xaar's manufacturing and OEM partners worldwide.
