Design, copy and print centre Letterworks has expanded its digital print capabilities with the purchase of a Xerox Docucolour 5252.

Design, copy and print centre Letterworks has expanded its digital print capabilities with the purchase of a Xerox Docucolour 5252.

Supplied by Xerox reseller, Xeretec, the digital press extends Letterworks' services, making it a one-stop centre for design, print production and fulfilment.

Letterworks opted for a Xerox Docucolour 5252 over alternative digital-litho presses following a detailed review of its requirements and options with Xeretec.

David Brown, managing director of Letterworks, said: "We have experienced consistent growth in demand for short-run colour work, much of which needs presentation finishing, such as yearbooks, training manuals and corporate information packs.

The winning of a substantial contract from Complete Learning, to provide corporate literature for their blue chip clients reiterated the need for fast and reliable quality digital colour print.

"We have been running a Heidelberg DI press and considered other digital-litho presses, however we decided on the Docucolour 5252 because with it we can customise on-demand print-runs, deliver a powerful variable data service and produce the precise number of documents required.

It made more sense than investing in another digital litho press," he added.

Warren Beard, director of Xeretec, added: "We are committed to helping customers find ways to make their business more competitive and more profitable.

Letterworks will achieve that with the introduction of the Docucolour 5252 and we are already talking about how we can create further sales opportunities for Letterworks with the possible introduction of a digital colour workflow system." Letterworks is also using a Xerox Docutech 90 to supply customers with more complex mid-range mono print-runs and variable data services.

Based in Reading, Berkshire (UK) the company has been going for more than 20 years and supplies design, print and fulfilment services to local and multi-national business customers.
