Xerox Resellers Come Together In GBP11m Deal

Xerox UK reseller, Xeretec, has announced that it is to acquire Southampton company Southern X, Xerox's premier reseller partner in Hampshire, Dorset, south Wiltshire and West Sussex.

Xerox UK reseller, Xeretec, has announced that it is to acquire Southampton company Southern X, Xerox's premier reseller partner in Hampshire, Dorset, south Wiltshire and West Sussex.

The move is said to create the UK's biggest single reseller of Xerox equipment with combined sales of over GBP11 million.

The deal is part of Xeretec's continuing strategy for growth outlined by the new board of directors 12 months ago.

Bringing together two complementary geographic territories and product portfolios, the expansion follows a year of excellent sales performance by the Xeretec Group.

Steve Hawkins, a director of Xeretec Group, said: "Xeretec has gone from strength to strength since we announced our strategy for growth last year.

We have seen double-digit growth in sales and the acquisition of Southern X is a natural progression of this success for the Xeretec Group.

The two businesses are highly complementary and we believe our staff and customers will realise significant benefits as a result of joining together." He added: "The size of the business now allows us to invest more heavily in vertical markets including graphic arts and key areas such as customised systems and managed services.

We are also embarking on a recruitment drive to attract additional staff to support this expansion.

Xeretec Group is in a very strong position for the future and we are looking forward to sharing this success with the Southern X team." Southern X complements Xeretec's strength in the digital production printing and graphic arts sectors.

Southern X's customer base for office printers and office supplies will also add significantly to Xeretec's position in those sectors where greater economies of scale and improved customer service and delivery will be realised, said Xeretec.
