Xeikon limits distribution and service to one dedicated subsidiary per country as already demonstrated by the formation of sales and service organisations in the Netherlands, Germany, Great Britain and France in 2003.
Punch International, Xeikon International's shareholder, holds 51% of the Italian company's shares while the former NTG Digital executives hold the other 49%.
Punch International's chief executive officer, Guido Dumarey is president of Xeikon Italia, while Carlo Di Noi is managing director.
Xeikon Italia will have nine employees, most of who have been working for NTG Digital.
The company is based in the Milan area, and covers the entire Italian territory.
Di Noi said: " This new structure offers many benefits.
We now will supply products and service direct to our customers.
Being closer to the Xeikon headquarters and by being focused on these products and services only, gives us the opportunity to serve our customers even better." Dumarey commented: "The establishment of Xeikon Italia will reinforce our market position in one of the key territories.
The experienced and knowledgeable NTG Digital organisation largely stays in place, but is now backed by a financially strong group and is linked closer to the Xeikon headquarters.".
