Xitron has released Xenith 6.1, a software upgrade for its workflow system product line.

Xitron has released Xenith 6.1, a software upgrade for its workflow system product line.

Xenith 6.1 introduces new features, such as two-bit screening for all inkjet proofers with direct drivers in Xenith, the JDF Remote Output option and hold-before-output CIP4.

Other enhancements include improved imposition automation and new GUI controls, said Xitron.

R Patrick French, vice president of sales and marketing for Xitron, said: "As a company, Xitron encourages user feedback and suggestions during product development.

Xenith 6.1 incorporates some of those ideas, resulting in a truly robust system for commercial printers." The JDF Remote Output option in Xenith 6.1 allows users with the JDF import and export module to output proofs and final bitmaps at remote locations, offering a flexible, well-distributed workload option when pre-press and press are in different locations, claimed the company.

Two-bit inkjet proofer screening provides a high-quality proof when sending output to many of the popular inkjet proofing devices supported by Xenith.

Amongst those are some of the most popular devices from Hewlett Packard and Epson.

Xenith users with a current Xitron support agreement are eligible to receive a complimentary upgrade to the new version in conjunction with a Webex installation bundle from Xitron - or through a Xitron Xenith certified technician.

Other customers may buy the upgrade at a price depending on their current software level.

Alternatively, if customers renew a support agreement, they will receive the upgrade at a special price.
