New colour software for Epson Stylus proofers

Xitron has released its new colour proofing software for Epson Stylus Pro 7900 and 9900 proofers.

Navigator proofing software for Epson Stylus Pro 7900 and 9900 proofers provide Xitron's Totalproof certified with colour accuracy for Gracol, SWOP and Fogra printing conditions, as well as direct support for all 11 ink cartridges in the Epson Stylus Pro 7900 and 9900 proofer printers, together with Gracol, SWOP and Fogra compatible profiles for Xitron X1 and Epson proofing papers.

At the same time, the system provides advanced screening designed for Epson printers, the ability to produce proofs with the same RIP that produces plates, ROOM Proofing (which will be available in the first quarter of 2010) and direct integration in Navigator workflow systems.

Mark Eisenschenk, Xitron's president and chief executive officer, said: 'Our Totalproof certification simplifies proofing by delivering high quality contract proofs meeting industry specification and process control methods.

Totalproof combines the Xitron Epson proofer driver, specialised ICC profiles and Xitron X1 inkjet media to achieve outstanding results.

Navigator Proofing complements Navigator workflow systems by using a single RIP for proof and final output, thus improving pre-press production while ensuring data integrity and delivering high quality contract proofs.

The Navigator proofing plug-in for Epson Stylus Pro 7900 and 9900 proofers is an option for any Navigator Workflow or Navigator Proofing RIP version 8.0 and higher.

North American users who buy Navigator proofing for Epson Stylus Pro 7900 and 9900 proofers will also receive a roll of Xitron's X1 inkjet media, which was formulated to meet the demands of commercial printers by closely matching a typical commercial press sheet.

Other modules for the Navigator workflow include PDF Tools to create and preflight PDFs, as well as imposition, which integrates Dynagram's InpO2, together with Ink Remapping to merge excess plates, and Keysetter, which provides press ink key presets to reduce make-ready time.
