Xante to display printing products at Graph Expo

A Xante Corporation product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Oct 20, 2008

Xante will exhibit its range of printing presses and products at Graph Expo, Chicago, 26-29 October.

It will display the Ilumina digital colour press, which can print directly on lenticular media, enabling small to mid-sized print shops to enter the lucrative special effects print market.

The Ilumina 3D can serve as a lenticular proofing device for higher-end and wide format applications.

The Ilumina 3D is driven by Xante's plug-in to Adobe Photoshop, developed by lenticular software supplier Promagic.

The OpenRIP Symphony and OpenRIP Flexo Professional workflow software strengthens the abilities of small and mid-size traditional, digital and flexographic printers to compete for higher end business.

These versions of the OpenRIP PDF offer integrated Pantone colour library support for the colour database.

They also feature Striprite Imposition, which allows the mixing of page sizes and orientations on a press sheet, as well as freeform ganging, which provides flexible output, saving time and media.

There are also linearization and dot gain enhancements and halftone processing features.

OpenRIP PDF software features the Adobe PDF Print Engine (APPE) and Postscript 3.

The Ilumina 502 can handle text to ultra-thick-cover paper weights, 75-502 gsm.

Print shops can now make money producing short-run four-colour jobs on a range of substrates that have been previously unavailable for digital printing.

The Ilumina 502 digital press can print fibre-enhanced papers, such as textured canvas, sleek metallic, cast coated and magnetic stocks.

Myriad Magnetic is a flexible, rubber magnet digital media for short-run, full colour printing on the Ilumina.

Myriad Magnetic media is suited for outdoor applications such as magnetic signs on autos and promotional signs.

The 0.5mm thick material can also be used for promotional items, including refrigerator magnets, magnetic photos, business cards and more.

The magnetic media is available in letter (216 x 280mm), A4 (210 x 297mm) and 330 x 482mm sizes.

The Platemaker 5XL large format and process-free, chemical-free polyester CTP pre-press system can image 16-up polyester plates and paper proofs up to 914 x 1,219mm.

The all-in-one PDF workflow, powered by OpenRIP Symphony 3.0, preserves file content and automates pre-press tasks, such as trapping and imposition.

The toner-based Platemaker 5 XL does not require plate processing chemicals.

It can image polyester plates up to 914 x 1219mm in about one minute and allows them to be placed directly on the printing press without further processing.

The Platemaker 5 XL is designed for single colour and spot colour work.

Its 16-up large-format capability makes it suitable for newspaper and book publishing.

The VM4 violet metal CTP platesetter is reliable and simple to use.

It prints up to 927 x 635mm maximum plate size at 2,540 dots per inch with linescreens of more than 200 lines per inch.

The VM4 system is integrated with the OpenRIP Symphony PDF workflow and includes an internal drum platesetter and the P24 photopolymer plate processor.
