Kevin Craine, MBA will host a day-long course entitled after his popular book, 'Designing a Document Strategy', on behalf of Xplor International.

The course will be taught on March 2 at Xplor's Document University in conjunction with Graphics of the Americas/Xplor Exhibition at the Miami Beach Convention Centre, Miami Beach, Florida (USA).

The course is intended for executives, managers, technicians and consultants who want to implement a document strategy for a large organisation, said Xplor.

The day-long course, comprised of six individual classes, will describe a five-phase process that will guide readers through the design of document strategy tailored to particular situations.

Cause-effect diagrams, flow charts and return on investment models will be presented.

In addition, case study examples will demonstrate how the methods in the book can be applied.

As a result, attendees will be in position to make well-informed assessments and formulate document strategies that will make meaningful and beneficial improvements, added Xplor.

Kevin Craine, author and instructor, said: "Over the years there has been a lot of talk about the importance of a document strategy but until now, there hasn't been a useful process to follow to design an effective document strategy.

This course and the accompanying text, provides a process to follow that will guide meaningful assessments, targeted improvements and measurable outcomes." Craine has over 25 years, experience managing large document services organisations in the health care, pharmaceutical and aerospace industries, said Xplor.

His experience runs the gamut of document processing and includes MIS printing, on-demand digital publishing and online document presentment, as well as pre-press, graphic design, offset production and high-volume mail operations.

He is the founding editor of Document magazine and is said to be an authority on corporate process improvement and document strategies.

He received his BA in organisational communications and his MBA in the management of science and technology.

Skip Henk, EDP, president and chief executive officer of Xplor International, said: "All of us agree that a sound document strategy is important, but many of us need guidance when it comes to developing one.

Kevin's course will have the answer, as in each class he will examine the original text of his book and lead the class through practical application by building on each previous session.".
