Xplor International has announced the addition of a keynote address and panel discussion at the Xplor Document University in conjunction with Graphics of the Americas/Xplor Exhibition.

Xplor International, the worldwide electronic document systems association today announced an the addition of a keynote address and panel discussion to the Xplor Document University in conjunction with Graphics of the Americas/Xplor Exhibition at the Miami Beach Convention Centre, Miami Beach, Florida (USA) Taking place on March 1, the keynote titled 'cross media publishing: enhancing your customer relationships' will be presented by Charlie Pesko, founder and president of Infotrends

With more than 35 years of experience, Pesko has provided research and consulting services for virtually every major company in the worldwide digital imaging and document services industries, said Xplor.

He will share the stage with representatives from Adobe, Compass Capital, IBM, Kodak, Nipson, Oce and Xerox.

Skip Henk, president and chief executive officer of Xplor International, said: "Until recently, most of our customer communications have taken the form of printed documents, including account statements and invoices.

Today, the definition of the document continues to change, as successful companies must now understand the marriage of human behavior, new technologies and new communications media." The session will explore the development of cross-media publishing strategies that will serve an organisation in forging deeper relationships with its customers.

Topics to be covered include the changing business of document communications, the cost-effective creation of information that can be published and provided in different formats and capturing attention through the use of colour.

In addition, there will be en examination of the effectiveness of one-to-one communications and how they can enrich direct marketing programmes, added Xplor.

Charile Pesko commented: "According to an Infotrends study on multi-channel communications, over 50 per cent of an organisation's content has shifted to an electronic-first delivery model.

As a result, the growing number of channels and the need to capture attention has made effective customer communication more complex than it has been in the past.

As the range of media that needs to be supported expands, it challenges an organisation's ability to manage information and processes to communicate effectively and consistently.".
