Digital Print Organisation Re-Shapes Board
Xplor UK and Ireland has made new appointments to its newly created advisory board, including Simon Haywood of J Promail at the Jersey Post and Nick Khatri, from Pitney Bowes Emtex Software.
Also elected to the advisory board were Chris Knight , the J promail operations manager at the Jersey Post, Chris Martin, UK business development manager at Kodak Graphic Communications Group, Linda McDaniel, technical consultant at Xenos Group and Neil Merchant, project manager and GEM at team - interactive applications with American Express.
In addition, head of professional marketing of Canon Business Solutions at Canon UK, Ben Milford, has joined the board, along with Graham O'Neill, the senior account manager at Buhrs UK and Dr Michael Turton, the principal of Cavendish Consultants.
The advisory board will work with James Shand and Roberta McKee-Jackson, president and operations director, respectively, of Xplor UK and Ireland, to bring the combined experience to more than 100-man years, to ensure that the association continues to create and develop industry educational forums for the benefit of users and vendors, said the organisation.
James Shand commented: "The printing industry continues to transform itself with the use of digital printing technology and users of that technology are hungry to learn how to maximise its potential.
Digital printing is a more complex process when considering that service providers now need to consider the complete process for the document lifecycle and not just putting the marks on paper." He continued by explaining: "Xplor International and its affiliate organisations have been successfully providing education to those who were the early adopters of digital printing technology since the early 1980s.
Now the market has further developed with full digital colour printing enabling the process to provide fully variable and personalised document content, traditional printers are the new digital technology users." Xplor and its affiliates operate as not-for-profit organisations building on experiences from industry experts and users who are willing to share their knowledge and skills so that others might benefit, said the organisation.
It said it does that by creating educational forums with seminars, exhibitions and networking opportunities across Europe and other continents, which is available to members and non-members.
