X-Rite Launches New Densitometer At Drupa 2004

X-Rite has announced that it will officially launch its DTP32 Series II automatic strip reading densitometer at Drupa 2004 in May.

The new densitometer is designed to calibrate and ensure quality colour output for Postscript colour copiers, colour printers, and colour proofing systems.

The DTP32 Series II is four times faster than previous models and one of seven new products that the company will show at Drupa as part of its wider Streamlined Color Management portfolio.

The DTP32 Series II enables the printer to maintain consistent, accurate colour, regardless of the environment.

Calibration of any colour output device will drift over time, causing fluctuations in colour and screen values.

Colours may vary due to changes in room temperature, humidity, paper, toner, or other materials.

It is said to ensure on-demand colour consistency through time and across multiple print jobs and reduced waste and printer downtime.

It interfaces with IBM-compatible Macintosh Sun, and SGI platforms and it has small desktop footprint.

"We took valuable input from our customers and improved this product to make it faster and easier to use," said James Weaver, vice president of marketing and product development.

"The aim of Streamlined Color Management is to ensure colour efficiency throughout all three stages of graphic arts workflow: create, prepare, execute.

This will be achieved through integrated solutions, faster operation, smarter systems, universal application and ease of use.

We will be revealing the full portfolio of this revolutionary new range of solutions at Drupa," added Weaver.

The DTP32 Series II will be shown on X-rite's stand at Drupa in hall 4, stand A61.
