It will be bundled with Monaco's next generation software for a complete monitor calibration solution for graphic arts professionals.

Monaco Optixx R is the first co-developed product effort from X-Rite since its acquisition of Monaco Systems in July 2003.

"It was engineered from the ground up to produce accurate ICC profiles for monitor calibration.

It was a unified effort as we combined our hardware, software, and production teams to create the best solution in the industry today at this price point.

Display profiling is one of the most critical steps in a colour-managed workflow, and is often the entry into profiling for many users.

It comes in two editions - the first being a profiling package for photographers, graphic artists, and creative professionals with prices starting at $299.

Monaco Optixx R PRO edition is designed for the professional.

It is said to be designed for workgroups and customers who demand expert levels of control, flexibility and high quality profiles available said X-Rite.

The package includes the Monaco Optixx R colourimeter and Monaco's profiling software with workgroup support and controls for the high quality profiles available, said the company.

Its prices start at $429.
