X-Rite is providing seminars from November until February 2007 designed to help creative directors, designers, photographers and production managers unleash the power of colour.

The 'Colour Without Limits' seminars will be presented in 20 major US and Canadian cities with support from HP, Apple, Adobe, Quark, Popular Photography and Imaging Magazine, Wasatch and Paperspecs.

Eric Harsh, vice president of X-Rite Colour Services, said: "The technologies being used now to create, edit and print are colour management ready.

But for those who don't understand how their applications and hardware handle colour, workflow is going to be all work and no flow." The full day seminars will demonstrate how to effectively implement digital colour management for the entire workflow, including inputs, displays, editing, proofing and every kind of final output, said X-Rite.

Instructors will help participants master best practices and colour settings for the latest versions of popular applications, including Adobe Creative Suite 2 and Quark 7.

Delegates will learn how to simplify colour matching so that their monitors show what is in the file and their prints match what they see on screen, added the company.

Each registrant will receive the X-Rite Colour Toolkit, equipping them to start applying their colour control knowledge immediately.

The kit includes the Eye-One Display 2 monitor calibrator and software, X-Rite's 'Need to Know: Colour' manual, a full-colour presentation workbook, Colour Glossary, reference CD and discounts from event sponsors.

Details of the host cities and dates, with complete agendas and on-line registration are available on-line.

The US$349 seminar fee includes lunch and the X-Rite Colour Toolkit.

X-Rite added that there is an 'early bird' discount available for on-line and telephone registrations until October 31 using coupon code CWL2.

Groups of four people or more are invited to register by telephone for US$250 per attendee.

Student discounts and payment by purchase order are also available.
