New Bundle Connects Colour Management Systems

A X-Rite product story

Pre-press, digital printing and wide-format printing companies now have available X-Rite's new i1iSis Power Bundle, which includes complete hardware and software connecting colour management systems.

X-Rite said that users of the system can benefit from colour management by being able to predictably reproduce colour on all their devices, from input to output.

There are also benefits for those customers who need to colour manage their proofers, create profiles for presses, manage groups of digital or large format printers or use different types of printing inks, media or other consumables.

The i1iSis line captures no-filter and UV-cut filter data in a single chart measurement cycle, eliminating the need for multiple cycles to measure multiple data sets.

claimed the company.

The i1iSis line automatically initiates measurement when paper is fed in to the device and optional barcodes can be used for further efficiency with automatic chart recognition.

The i1iSis family also recognises and supports more paper formats, allowing the devices to measure long charts (up to 66 cm) or up to 2,500 colour patches.

The use of LEDs (light-emitting diodes) for illumination reduces the need for lamp replacements.

X-Rite's i1 Color software is the basis for spectral colour communications throughout the workflow.

The i1iSis has been awarded best colour management product of 2007 in the software category by the European Digital Press Association.

The EDP awards are given for the best and most innovative digital printing products of the year and are judged on efficiency, performance, the quality and price ratio, design and ease-of-use.

Thomas Kunz, imaging and media market manager for photo at X-Rite, said: "Including an i1Pro and software with the i1iSis XL automated chart reader enables our customers to have the most versatile and complete colour measurement suites available today." The iSis is claimed to provide high speed, easy-to-use chart reading for printer profiling, whilst the i1Pro allows users to profile scanners, cameras and displays, measure ambient light and take spot colour measurements.

A choice of either Profilemaker 5 Publish Plus or Monaco Profiler Platinum provides software for creating profiles, customising profile charts, editing profiles and managing colour measurements.
