Last year, DP and P produced the 2004-2005 prospectuses for more than two hundred different schools in Nottinghamshire.
The prospectus that was entered into the competition was provided by Prospect Hill Infant and Nursery School in Worksop, which included the use of online booklet making and trimming.
The A4 24-page full-colour brochure also featured images produced by the school's pupils using only crayons, not the easiest to reproduce to a high standard.
The County Council's entry won on the grounds of high quality printing, consistency, creative design and use of variable data.
Councillor John Stocks, cabinet member for resources at the council said: "The County Council's design and print department works tirelessly to produce high quality prints and it is marvellous that their expert services are being commended in this way." Len Talbot-McIntosh, print manager at Nottinghamshire County Council said: "This is excellent news for us and I am incredibly proud of what our team has done here.
It was a deliberate attempt to win an award that would symbolise team working and best practice.
This is a good example of the real benefit of having talented staff employed in a dedicated in-house service for Nottinghamshire County Council." Anoush Dowlatshahi-Gordon, director of production group for Xerox UK, said that the award added further proof to the high quality of colour digital print technology.
"Congratulations to Nottinghamshire County Council for winning this award, which underlines the quality of Xerox's Docucolor range.
There used to be doubt over the quality of colour digital print compared to litho.
The calibre of Xerox's colour machines now renders that debate obsolete," he added.
