In a company initiative, 'Run With It', Xerox asked staff to recognise others who are innovative and inventive in both their ideas and actions by nominating them for the chance to participate in the relay.
"It wasn't until I had to pass the torch to Chris and I could see all the local Greeks cheering that I felt euphoric about taking part in the Olympic Torch relay.
It was a fabulous experience," said Robinson, who was nominated for his work on a major multilingual training project.
Evans commented: "I was shocked to have been chosen and I thoroughly enjoyed taking part and meeting Xerox employees from different parts of the business." David Millican, Xerox UK head of communications said: "As worldwide partners to the ATHENS 2004 Olympic Games, Xerox has the honour of participating in 20 legs of the official Olympic Torch Relay.
We are delighted that Xerox employees have the opportunity to participate in this unique journey, and we were keen to allow staff to reward their fellow colleagues with a once in a lifetime opportunity.".
