Xerox received four 'Must See 'ems' and 'Worth-a-Look' awards at the Graph Expo exhibition.

Xerox received four 'Must See 'ems' and 'Worth-a-Look' awards at the Graph Expo exhibition The awards, sponsored by Printcom Consulting Group, are presented to products and services that exemplify innovation in the graphic communications industry

They are presented to products displayed at Graph Expo based on an independent evaluation of competitive offerings.

"The breadth of Xerox's digital printing products is a benchmark for 21st Century printers.

Xerox strives to develop products that are not only uniquely innovative, but also provide profitable business value.

These awards recognise the company's digital printing technology leadership and its excellence in designing products that meet customer needs," said Bill Lamparter, president of Printcom Consulting Group.

Those products that won awards included the Docucolor 8000 digital press and the Nuvera platform products and was recognised with a Worth-a-Look distinction for its Freeflow Digital Workflow Collection.

The company also received honours in the first-ever Encore 'Must See 'ems' awards competition with the iGen3 digital production press.

The Encore 'Must See 'ems' designation recognises past recipients that are still best in their class.

"Xerox's well-established iGen3 press received the award for its continuous and significant improvement since it entered the market," noted Lamparter.

"Xerox is proud to have won a Must See 'em award again after winning in 2001 and 2003, as well as a Worth-a-look award in 2002," said Anoush Dowlatshahi-Gordon, director of the production systems group for Xerox UK.

"Our main aims are to look for ways to improve productivity, reduce overheads for our customers and maintain quality.

It is great to see our innovations acknowledged by industry experts," he added.

A panel of print industry consultants and non-vendor related program participants selected the awards.

"An important factor in Freeflow being chosen for this award was its capability to facilitate printers choosing between having a job printed on a digital press or offset press.

Taking a job ticket directly from JDF and printing it for a digital short-run job is a growing application in which digital complements offset in a commercial print environment," said Lamparter.
