£0.5m Sponsorship Sees Launch Of Xerox Suite

Xerox has marked its £500,000 sponsorship of Leicester College's National Printing Skills Centre (NPSC) with the opening of The Xerox Suite at the UK training and print education centre.
The suite is a dedicated room of equipment that will allow students and print employees to gain first hand experience on some of the most technologically advanced digital printing equipment in use in the industry today said Xerox.
It features the latest Xerox Docucolor 6060, a Nuvera 120 copier-printer and a Freeflow Makeready system.
Xerox believes that it is especially fitting, as the NPSC celebrates its 10th anniversary, that the company continues to support training.
The facilities have contributed, in part, to the NPSC sustaining its status of Centre of Vocational Excellence in Print Skills (CoVE), an award presented by the Government to highlight the provision of high-quality training and education.
Peter Taylor, Xerox's UK director of graphic arts said: "We are delighted to be assisting the National Print Skills Centre with The Xerox Suite.
Not only will students have an opportunity to use the latest digital equipment but hopefully they will take the name of Xerox into their workplaces and carry on using our equipment for the rest of their careers.
As a company we are committed to bridging the skills' gap and in educating the next generation of printers to the opportunities that digital printing can provide.
The equipment is the very latest in the market.
The Nuvera 120, for instance, had its commercial launch less than six months ago." Paul Baylis, curriculum area manager for print and media at Leicester College said: "We are the premier print education and training institution in the UK with increasing awareness internationally.
Over the past decade, the link between Xerox and Leicester College has been excellent and there is a long history of collaboration and partnership.
I believe that there is scope for an enhanced relationship between Xerox and Leicester College as a whole that can benefit us both and ultimately the industry as well.
As part of our remit to CoVE it is extremely important that we remain at the cutting edge of the printing industry and I'm sure that initiatives such as The Xerox Room will maintain our reputation as one of the leading print education colleges in the UK.".
