New Copier-Printer Claimed To Run At 110k A Minute
Xerox has launched its 4110 mono digital copier and printer, claimed to be capable of 110 page-per-minute performance.
Xerox has launched its 4110 mono digital copier and printer, claimed to be capable of 110 page-per-minute performance.
It is said to be able to give users the choice of producing jobs as diverse as maps, booklets and direct-mail pieces with high image quality and what Xerox claimed to be the fastest scanner in the light production market.
That segment includes systems that average print volumes of 80,000-350,000 pages a month added the company.
The 4110 technology is the latest example of Xerox's digital strategy to deal with the evolution of the printing industry from a product-only in to a more service-orientated business driven by customers, accordimng to the company.
The 4110 is integrated with the range of Xerox Freeflow software to link technologies from various partners and vendors and to integrate digital printing in to JDF-based workflows.
The new digital copier is fully serviced and supported by Xerox's support network.
"Higher copy and print resolution, a more productive scanner, larger total paper capacity and a greater range of supported paper weights are all factors that separate the 4110 from existing offerings.
This product is well positioned to address the light production segment, which is the fastest growing part of the mono copying market with a 9.2 per cent compound annual growth rate," said Jim Hamilton, director of the on demand printing and publishing consulting service, Infotrends CAP Ventures.
Designed for small-to-medium-sized print shops and large offices, the 4110 digital copier and printer offers features such as dual-head scanning, which means it can simultaneously scan both the front and back of a document at 100 impressions per minute at 600 dots per inch (dpi) x 600dppi said the company, which claimed that competing devices slow down when scanning double-sided pages.
In addition, the 4110 is said to offer maximum productivity because people can scan documents and program future jobs while the machine is printing added Xerox.
The new system is claimed to print at 2400dpi x 2400dpi and uses Xerox's patented EA (emulsion aggregation) toner - a form of 'dry ink' with uniform particles for consistent image quality and high reliability throughout long print runs.
Toner can be replenished while the system is running, thereby boosting productivity said the company.
The system is claimed to be able to handle heavier and larger paper sizes of up to 330mm x 487mm and up to 253gsm and it quickly produces a wide range of jobs including reports, maps, brochures, engineering documents, saddle-stitched booklets, and C-fold or Z-fold booklets and mailers added Xerox.
It has a maximum 8,225-sheet paper capacity and up to eight paper trays.
Its standard configuration features 100-sheet stapling, a two-hole and three-hole punch and a post-process inserter that can insert pre-printed mono or colour pages in to a document.
An optional booklet maker and finisher is also available.
The company said that order taking and installations for the 4110 are already underway in Europe with list prices ranging from GBP48,000 - GBP59-000, depending on configuration.
