On-line print company Everydayprint has responded to customer demand for on-line printing by investing in a new Xerox Docucolor 5252 digital colour press.

On-line print company Everydayprint has responded to customer demand for on-line printing by investing in a new Xerox Docucolor 5252 digital colour press.

The press complements the company's two existing Docucolor 12 Printers, which combined have enabled the company, part of Everydayoffice , to rapidly increase its print volume by 15 per cent, offer more varied stocks and guarantee faster turnaround times said Xerox.

In a deal worth GBP 105,000, the latest addition of the Xerox Docucolor 5252 allows Everydayprint to keep up with mounting requests from corporate clients via the web, to include mail shots, manuals and business cards, and to maintain its competitiveness.

In early 2004, Everydayprint developed its own on-line software to satisfy growing demand for on-line printing and consequently purchased its first Xerox Docucolor 12 printer.

As the business grew, a second Docucolor 12 was installed at the end of 2004 to strengthen the company's position as a one-stop service for small to medium-sized businesses.

"Since buying the Docucolor 5252 we have been rushed off our feet.

The machine extends the capabilities of our existing Xerox equipment and means that we can produce larger runs and guarantee next day turn-around times for short runs.

Our customers have already noticed the difference.

I am extremely impressed by the superior imaging quality of the Docucolor 5252 and I can envisage us buying another system if demand keeps up at the current pace," said Jason Walker, managing director of Everydayprint in Poynton, Cheshire (UK).

Before purchasing its Docucolor, Everydayprint considered other printer options, but decided on Xerox because of the quality and reliability of its technology said Xerox.

"Although the Docucolor 5252 was not the cheapest option, it proved to be the most reliable for all types of print-runs and gave us the ability to maintain a high standard image quality.

We soon realised, the only way forward was with Xerox," explained Walker.

Everydayprint's on-line software is meeting the rising demand for on-line printing, particularly from corporate customers, which make up between five per cent and 10 per cent of business.

The company's website features on-line bespoke corporate templates that are designed and ordered by the customer and mostly printed out on the Docucolor 5252.

The system is being used to print a whole range of documents for SMEs, including mailshots, manuals, letterheads, postcards and business cards, with the average order costing GBP 30.

"Everydayprint required a printer that could cope with large print volumes and a vast range of print types.

The Docucolor 5252 matched their needs because of its print speed of 52 pages per minute (ppm), minimal operator involvement and flexibility to produce a range of applications," said Peter Taylor, director of graphic arts at Xerox UK.
