The Rockhopper is claimed to print with new eco-solvent inks that allow for printing to low cost uncoated vinyl to guarantee an outdoor longevity of up to three years, said Xerox.
Xerox will also be unveiling the new 8142 and 8160 wide-format colour printers for indoor graphics, which will be the first time the printers will be seen by the public.
The 60" and 42" six-colour machines are said to be capable of printing at 1,200dpi x 600dpi (dots per inch) resolution with a production speed of up to 20 square metres per hour using low cost dye or pigment inks with a rapid drying time, added the company.
O ther products on show include the Xerox 6050 mid-volume monochrome printer-copier system, which is a single footprint printer with an integrated scanner fitted with a choice of controllers, either AccXES enabled or embedded.
Launched at the end of 2004, it comes with two or four media rolls and is said to print at up to 600dpi x 1,200dpi.
The 36" Xerox 2260ij entry level wide format colour CAD printer will be highlighted.
It is claimed to be suitable for four-colour or high-speed mono printing and it will be demonstrated operating at 18 square metres per hour in colour using a newly developed ink caddy system to improve the ink head life, said the company.
The 721 monochrome printer-copier system will also be on show, demonstrating its ability to print at 22 A1 pages per minute and its scanning speed of 7.5" per second.
The machine uses a toner recycling system to maximise toner usage and reduce running costs, said Xerox.
The wide-format products will be also showcased with the latest software and hardware additions from Xerox's partners.
The AccXES Controller is a multifunctional web-based management tool for the high speed processing of data files and is supplied with the drivers and client software for monochrome and colour scanning to the internet.
The Caldera high-speed colour RIP software will also be demonstrated with its zero RIP time and RIP on the fly functions.
It is used to support all Xerox colour printers and provides in-built editing and colour correction tools, said Xerox.
The Showliner tour will also show a choice of folders from three European vendors - Bay, Es-Te, and Gera - in both on-line and off-line versions.
All three-folder types can support all Xerox wide-format monochrome printers and a range of colour printers.
Richard Cloot, Xerox UK's wide format business manager, said: "To showcase so many new products at the same time shows the tremendous efforts that Xerox has put in to developing its wide-format infrastructure.
This year we have engineered and collaborated with best of breed partners to develop our range of wide-format products.
We can demonstrate a range of allied products that can get the very best performance level from the range." The Xerox Showliner will appear at venues in Worcester, Halifax and Livingston.
The Showliner opens out into a self-contained unit with catering facilities, meeting rooms, reception area, and a demonstration suite.
The Showliner is also fitted with PCs and a Mac loaded with QuarkXPress, AutoCAD and MS Office to run customer applications and real jobs to demonstrate the capabilities of the machines.
