Cheltenham (UK) print house, Printwyze has ordered a Xerox Docucolor 5252 digital printer from new Xerox production reseller Express Print Solutions (EPS).

Cheltenham (UK) print house, Printwyze has ordered a Xerox Docucolor 5252 digital printer from new Xerox production reseller Express Print Solutions (EPS).

The new Docucolor, due to be installed this month, will increase the Printwyze's production capability, and enable it to fulfil its ambition to treble its print volume in the coming year, said Xerox.

Paul Newman, the managing director of Printwyze, said: "Over the past six months in particular, we have experienced a big upsurge in colour 'print for pay' work.

As a result, we identified the need for a strong production level digital printer to both enable us to service existing clients and also have the future production capability to meet our growth strategies." He said that when the company started looking for a production-level digital printer there was a lot of quality equipment on the market, but his company required more than just hardware to meet its needs.

Newman continued: "As this is a large investment for a company of our size, we were looking for a digital partner that would support us and provide the company with honest consultative advice on how to grow the business using this equipment, rather than just a distributor who sees a sale as the end of the process.

Around this time I read an article about Express Print Solutions.

The managing director, Dale Needham, struck a chord with us as he was talking about the need for digital manufacturers and distributors to be more than just 'box shifters' and work in partnership with customers.

One of the keys to our success as a business in Gloucestershire is our strong continuing relationships with our customers, and as such, we believe the support of our hardware manufacturers or distributors is in turn, critical to our success from a production perspective." Dale Needham, the managing director of EPS, said: "This sale for us clearly demonstrates our fundamental customer-focused principle at work.

We have recognised that as a digital hardware reseller, we really are selling an industry, as well as the machine itself.

If we are to succeed, our customers need be confident we understand the product we're selling and how it can make a real impact on a business in terms of additional efficiency revenues.

We are looking forward to working closely with Printwyze over the coming months to ensure its new 5252 comes on stream quickly, allowing the company to maximise its commercial potential." The Xerox Docucolor 5252, complete with an EFI Fiery print controller, is an entry level commercial production press, that is said to be suitable for commercial printers and print shops looking for a production machine suitable for a range of applications including print-on-demand, variable data printing and customised high-run digital production.
