Xerox's Digital Presses In £1.25m First Irish Deal
Xerox has won a £1.25 million contract from Graham and Heslip, the largest printer in Northern Ireland with the first Xerox iGen3 digital press installation in Ireland.
Xerox has won a £1.25 million contract from Graham and Heslip, the largest printer in Northern Ireland with the first Xerox iGen3 digital press installation in Ireland.
The investment will enable Graham and Heslip to meet increasing demand for high quality, short run, full colour printing delivered quickly and at reasonable prices to public relations, marketing and publishing customers.
The company expects demand to be high for its new product and estimates a consequent sales growth of £1 million in the first year.
Graham and Heslip said that it conducted an extensive evaluation of the market-leading digital colour manufacturers before signing up to Xerox because the company matched Graham and Heslip's production requirements and also delivered on cost effectiveness.
The decision also reflects Graham and Heslip's strategic refocus, which will see the company start to displace its litho printing and move towards being a supplier of digitally produced material over the next five years.
Graham and Heslip's client base, which includes Coca-Cola and United Christian Broadcasters International, will now be able to benefit from the iGen3's variable data capability.
Variable data production will enable the company to reduce minimum quantities to a single copy of a personalised annual report, company brochure or targeted book production.
Ken Cleland, managing director of Graham and Heslip commented: "Our ability to produce a single copy at offset quality in a very cost effective manner will offer our design industry customers an opportunity to be more creative, more cost effective and more innovative in the future.
We have already had a phenomenal response from the test market we have consulted with and our customers are eagerly awaiting the final commissioning of this first Xerox iGen3 in Northern Ireland." Xerox said that the new technology will enable the strategic realignment of Graham and Heslip, whilst assisting the company in its sales plans for the south and the opening of a sales office in London, targeting London's financial sector.
Commenting on Graham and Heslip's plans for the iGen3, Peter Taylor, director of graphic arts at Xerox UK said: "As the first iGen3 installation in Northern Ireland, Graham and Heslip joins a growing number of iGen3 customers across the UK, where sales have exceeded target figures.
More and more companies are seeing the advantages of digital technology to increase productivity, help them become more productive, then profit and grow.
Similarly, we expect Graham and Heslip to gain a huge competitive advantage in Ireland.".
