The Xerox Showliner Exhibition trailer will be visiting the UK again for 4 weeks from November 2, 2005.

The tour will visit eight venues across the UK starting in Witham, Essex, moving to London on November 17 and ending on November 24 in Cheltenham.

The success of the event earlier in the year has led to an expansion in the amount of Xerox kit on show, with new products to be launched next year providing a sneak preview on the future of wide-format.

This will be the very first opportunity to see the devices under one roof at the same time.

The Showliner tour will show new wide-format offerings that include a high quality, low cost 600dpi monochrome printing, copying and scanning solution for the low- to mid-volume wide-format market.

With a top mounted scanner this solution has the smallest footprint in its class, requiring less than 1m2 floor space.

Another new offering onboard the showliner will be the range of 4- and 8-colour inkjet printers.

Both printers will be available as 24in or 44in models with an impressive resolution of up to 2880x1440dpi creating breathtaking quality.

The 4-colour models offer high productivity large format printing ideal for use in POS, CAD and GIS environments, while the 8-colour model sets new standards in large format photographic and fine art printing.

Xerox will also be demonstrating the 8142 and 8160 wide-format colour printers for indoor graphics.

The 60in and 42in six-colour machines can print at a resolution of 1200x600dpi with a production speed of up to 20m2 per hour using low cost dye or pigment inks with a rapid drying time.

The Mid-Volume Xerox 6050 monochrome printer copier system is a single-footprint printer with an integrated scanner fitted with a choice of controllers, either Accxes enabled or embedded.

Launched in early 2005, it comes with two or four media rolls and prints high quality images, up to 600x1200dpi.

The 6050 multifunction system will be demonstrated with a Gera Mondial folder attached.

The combination of the 6050 print/copy system and Gera folder offers an extremely small footprint solution as it operates with no adjoining folder bridge and optional top mounted scanner which makes it the ideal choice for any limited space environment demanding high productivity.

For workgroups producing CAD and GIS documents the Xerox Wide-Format 510 series is ideal.

Printing at 400dpi, with a choice of operating speeds between 5 and 10 A1s per minute onto 1, 2 or 3 media rolls, the 510 is scalable so you can spec the solution to meet your needs.

Additional capabilities can be added when you need them allowing the 510 to grow with your business.

The Xerox Wide-Format Scan System can be added to any Accxes enabled printer to create a full multifunctional solution for printing, copying and scanning of technical documents or full colour images.

Howard Witt, wide-format business manager, Xerox UK, said: 'To showcase so many new products at the same time shows the tremendous efforts that Xerox has put into developing its wide-format infrastructure.

'We are tremendously excited at the prospect of showing so many new products to such a wide audience on the Xerox Showliner, and hope to help visitors make the most of their digital equipment'.

The wide-format products are also showcased with the latest software and hardware additions from Xerox and their best-of-breed partners.

The Xerox Accxes Controller is a multifunctional web-based management tool for the high speed processing of data files and is supplied with the drivers and client software for monochrome and colour scanning functions to the Internet.

The Caldera high-speed colour RIP software is also demonstrated with its zero RIP time, RIP on the fly functionality.

It is used to support all Xerox colour printers and provides in-built editing and colour correction tools.

Howard Witt continued: 'This year we have engineered and collaborated with best-of-breed partners to develop and complement our ongoing range of Xerox wide-format products.

'We can demonstrate a range of allied products that can fit to purpose to get the very best performance level from the Xerox wide-format printer range'.

The Xerox Showliner will host eight wide-format events with venues across the UK.

The events will take place at the following venues: 2nd - 3rd November - Witham, Essex; 7th November - Aberdeen; 9th November - Edinburgh; 11th November - Glasgow; 16th November - Southampton; 17th-18th November - London; 22nd November - Stafford; and 24th November - Cheltenham.

The Showliner will also be fitted with PCs and a Mac loaded with QuarkXPress, AutoCAD and MS Office to run customer applications and 'real-life' jobs to demonstrate the machines' capabilities.
