Buckingham Colour Press Extends Digital Offer
Buckingham Colour Press (BCP) has bought a Xerox Docucolor iGen3 digital production press in a major investment that is set to expand capacity at its digital division.
"Like many of the other players in the print game in Ireland we have been re-evaluating our business to ensure that we can remain competitive and flexible in an increasingly demanding print market," said Jack Cunningham, managing director of Jaycee Printing.
"I am confident that the iGen3 will provide us with a competitive advantage locally while also enabling us to compete well beyond our traditional markets, helping us to grow our business and ensure that our customers always get the fast, flexible, quality service that only the best technology can deliver," he continued.
The Xerox iGen3 110 has automatic make-ready and collation, the ability to mix stocks within a run, and built-in 'intelligence' to maintain colour fidelity and registration, said the company.
The press gives printers the flexibility to offer a wider range of services for customers, with shorter runs and faster turn-around.
Every page can be customised and personalised with colour and mono combined, producing documents including print on demand books, catalogues, brochures, direct mail, inserts and flyers.
Peter Taylor, director of graphic arts at Xerox UK, said: "The introduction of the iGen3 is an important milestone for Irish printing and is recognition of the iGen3's capabilities.
Digital printing is the future of this industry.
It is not only important to automate the process but also to provide the complementary workflow software, market development and consultancy programmes designed to help our customers maximise their digital equipment.
Jaycee Printers joins a growing number of iGen3 customers in the UK, where sales are exceeding target figures.
More and more companies are seeing the advantages of digital technology to increase productivity, profit and grow.".
