In an open forum at Ipex 2006, Xerox will bring together a panel of industry leaders and experts to explore opportunities and pitfalls affecting the future of printing and graphic communications.

The event, moderated by best-selling author and British broadcaster Jeremy Paxman, will take place in the Forum building at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham (UK) on April 4, beginning at noon.

Panelists will include Anne Mulcahy, chairman and chief executive officer of Xerox Corporation, Bernhard Schreier, chairman and chief executive officer of Heidelberg, Edward Carr, business affairs editor of The Economist magazine and Barry Hibbert, chief executive officer of the Polestar Group.

Paxman will lead the group in a discussion of the changing role of technology and work processes in an industry that is seen as a bellwether for the global economy, said Xerox.

Panelists will highlight market trends, challenges and opportunities designed to help print providers make better business decisions.

Attendees will also be invited to share their views and ask questions.

Analyst Andrew Tribute, president of Attributes Associates, said: "The health of graphic communications companies today is dependent on many factors in addition to ink on paper, such as declining marketing budgets and the growth of integrated communications vehicles.

It is critical that Ipex attendees take the larger economic and business environment in to account and apply the lessons they will learn from this must-see event." Titled 'In the balance - your choices, your success,' the event is free and open to all Ipex 2006 visitors.
