Xerox Software Wins High Praise From Gartner

A Xerox product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Oct 31, 2007

Xerox's Docushare software has been ranked in the 'visionaries' quadrant in the Magic Quadrant report on enterprise content management from Gartner, the technology research and advisory firm.

Commercial enterprise content management (ECM) software developers and providers are evaluated for the Magic Quadrant based on several criteria, including how they sell and support their ECM products and services on a global basis.

Docushare and Docushare CPX are two web-based ECM software applications that run on one unified technology platform.

Docushare offers basic content services, with a range of scanning and production-level imaging capabilities that are claimed to allow users to capture paper documents in to Docushare to then integrate them in to workflows and business processes.

According to Xerox, Docushare CPX provides more advanced content and process management functions, allowing customers to meet specialised requirements, for such compliance initiatives as detailed audit histories, automated auditing processes and on-demand reporting for industries such as financial services, healthcare and education.

ECM products are said to allow businesses to securely and easily capture, create, review, manage and publish information and content, such as financial and administrative documents and legally-binding contracts across their organisations.

The ECM Magic Quadrant report is claimed to provide guidance to Gartner clients that are evaluating enterprise content management vendors and systems.

David Smith, vice president and general manager of Xerox's Docushare Business Unit, said: "We think being categorised in the Visionaries Quadrant in this report is a testament to our team's long standing commitment to providing our customers with a powerful and cost-effective ECM product that simplifies how businesses share, access and manage content.".
