Running at a claimed full rated speed for a range of stocks up to 300gsm, the Xerox Docucolor 8000AP features 2,400 dots per inch (dpi) x 2,400 x 1dpi print resolution for sharpness and uniformity resulting in crisp, sharp text and digital screening that improves colour consistency, said Xerox.
The Docucolor 8000AP digital press is also said to provide tight front-to-back registration of +/- 0.5mm, which effectively complements output from offset presses.
Andy Cork, managing director of Printondemand-worldwide.com, commented: "We had previously invested in a machine from another supplier to meet our business needs but soon realised that the technology, service and support was not working for us.
Therefore, we re-evaluated our technology needs and turned to Xerox for an alternative system.
The Docucolor 8000AP's speed and print resolution meant it was the best fit for our business.
Since it has been installed the machine has essentially become a central work horse for our day-to-day operations." Kevin O'Donnell, Xerox's marketing manager for iGen3 and Docucolor, added: "We already had an established relationship with Printondemand-worldwide.com through our local business partner, ROI.
So when the company was looking for alternative systems, Xerox and ROI were a natural choice.
The Docucolor 8000AP provides Printondemand-worldwide.com with the speed, reliability and quality benefits they demanded.
This deal demonstrates that acquiring a digital press is not just about new hardware because the right technology must also be supported by excellent service and support.".
