Peter Romaine has been appointed as director and general manager for Xerox Global Services at Xerox UK.

Romaine led the office services and document outsourcing and communication services lines of business for Xerox Global Services Europe since 2004.

In his new role Romaine will be responsible for providing the strategic direction for the UK Xerox Global Services (XGS).

He will report jointly to Alan Charnley, Xerox UK and Ireland's managing director and to Shaun Pantling, Xerox Europe's director and general manager of XGS.

Peter Romaine said: "This is a hugely exciting time for Xerox Global Services.

The next decade will truly define the intersection between business document processes and IT and a significant number of companies will undergo business transformation to remain more nimble in a highly competitive, globalised market.

Xerox Global Services helps businesses better understand their document needs, reducing costs and the environmental impact of their activities, whilst increasing profitability and productivity." Xerox Global Services offers a range of services in document and process management outsourcing for global enterprise customers, said the company.

Romaine's appointment comes as part of a series of new appointments within the Xerox Global Services management team across Europe.

Alan Charnley commented: "Xerox Global Services continues to achieve significant business growth right across Europe and this success is especially marked in the UK, which continues to be the largest Xerox Global Services business in Europe.

I am confident that the appointment of Peter Romaine will ensure that we carry on the success, whilst finding new and exciting ways to innovate.".
