Asterjet 1650 system features Xaar printheads

A Xerox product story

The Asterjet 1650 from Neolt is a large-format inkjet system with Xaar printheads for visual communication and industrial applications.

The Asterjet 1650, launched at Viscom Italy, has a 165cm printing width.

According to Neolt, the Asterjet 1650 is targeted at small and medium-sized printing houses that do not want to invest in solvent technology, but still need to broaden their business with printing on media for indoor and outdoor applications, such as banner, adhesive vinyl, blueback paper, backlit films and polyester fabrics.

Neolt said that the Asterjet 1650 is modular and easy to use.

This result has also been made possible through partnerships with Xaar for the printheads and INX Digital for dedicated UV-curable inks.

A photographic print quality and a claimed productivity of up to 50m2/hour are said to be ensured by the binary Xaar Proton 360dpi x 1,440dpi heads driving a four-colour (CMYK) print engine, which is optionally upgradable to six colours, adding light cyan and light magenta.
