Yupo Corporation has introduced a UV printable grade for commercial printing, converting and labelling applications - FPR 200.

Yupo Corporation has introduced a UV printable grade for commercial printing, converting and labelling applications - FPR 200.

The new product is said to be specifically engineered for UV hybrid, offset and flexo printing applications.

UV printing has become increasingly popular due to its high gloss, smooth, uniform surface and excellent scuff and chemical resistance, said Yupo's national marketing manager, Paul Mitcham.

He added: "The print quality produced with UV is exceptional.

Brilliant colour reproduction, durability and super smooth surface can now be easily obtained with FPR 200." Previously, Yupo's UV inks required a primer coating before application, however the new grade can be UV printed without a primer, which is claimed to improve efficiency and reduce the expense of UV print runs.

Mitcham said: "With this new grade printers can increase pressroom productivity, whilst delivering the consistent and brilliant results graphic designers and brand owners demand from UV printing applications." UV printing applications on FPR 200 are claimed by Yupo to be durable with no marking or streaking.

Commercial printers gain the high-end, lustrous look produced by UV printing inks with the production benefits of a one-step process, believes the company.

In addition to the new UV printable grade, Yupo also manufactures a range of recyclable synthetic papers for the technical paper and commercial printing industries.
