IFS takes on UK agency for B1 laminating system

Following its successful collaboration at Ipex 2010, Intelligent Finishing Systems (IFS) and Czech manufacturer Komfi have extended their agreement to include the B1 Sagitta laminating system.

The Komfi Sagitta's claimed 50 metres per minute production speeds are said to make it suitable for longer runs while fast job change-overs also bring on-demand lamination within its scope.

The system is also said to be able to handle stocks up to 600gsm with maximum sheet formats of 76cm x 102cm.

With 30 years experience in the sector, including manufacturing oem systems for renowned suppliers, the Czech manufacturer's technology was recognised at Embax when its spot UV varnishing machine, the Spotmatic, was presented with The Gold Embax Print award for best exhibit.

IFS said that Komfi laminators are characterised by accurate and controlled sheet feeding into the laminating unit, laminating roll dry heating without heating liquid with laminating rolls, zoned temperature control and high nip pressure.

The bottom pressure rolls are also protected against film sticking.

The systems are also said to be simple to operate with fast machine adjustment for economical operation.

Tony Hards, joint IFS joint mananging director, said: 'This is a tremendous growth area in which we have already seen significant interest in the Aspira and Delta popular small jobbing commercial machines.

Their main benefits of high speed, quick change-overs and easy-to-use controls are also features on the B1 machine.

And while it addresses a different market segment Komfi has shown that its manufacturing capabilities excell in this sector.

Komfi's integrated systems - QMS and EMS - are based on CSN EN ISO 9001:2001 and 14001:2005 and meet all the requirements these standards stipulate, added IFS.
